What is a Reference Task?
A Reference Task is a mathematical experience repeated and revisited over time, extending math content for students ready for the next level of instruction. A Reference Task is applicable to all grade levels from kindergarten through high school. One example of a Reference Task is the Pizza Problem. The Pizza Problem provides an opportunity for multi-sensory stimuli In the regular Tier 1 math class. Students get what they need for maximum learning with hands-on, visual perception, memory, and motor skills.
